How do I register my fishing boat with AP Coastal Security? ▼
Boat registration is done at your nearest Coastal Police Station. You need to provide: (1) Ownership documents of the boat, (2) Biometric ID of the owner and crew, (3) Fisheries Department licence, (4) Hull Identification Number. Biometric IDs are issued to all fishermen. Contact your local Coastal PS for details.
What should I do in case of an emergency at sea? ▼
In case of any emergency at sea: (1) Dial 1554 for Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue, (2) Dial 100 for AP Police Emergency, (3) Use VHF Channel 16 (international distress frequency), (4) Activate your EPIRB (Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon) if equipped. Always maintain contact with shore before venturing deep into the sea.

PRISM (Police Real-Time Intelligence for Safety and Monitoring) is a technology initiative by the AP Police Department to enhance law enforcement through real-time data, digital case management, and citizen-centric services. AP Coastal Security operates under the PRISM framework for better coordination and surveillance.
Can fishermen get identity cards from AP Coastal Police? ▼
Yes. AP Coastal Police issues biometric fishermen identity cards in coordination with the Fisheries Department. These cards are mandatory for sea-going fishermen. Visit your nearest Coastal Police Station with your Aadhaar card, passport photos, and fisheries licence to apply.
What are the restricted zones along the AP coast? ▼
Certain maritime zones including harbour areas, defence establishment vicinities, and notified security zones are restricted. Fishing and other civilian activities are prohibited in these areas.
